Sadly, the Danish center-back will be moving to Barcelona at the end of the season as reports have it that he has signed for the Spanish club already.
His move has left Chelsea fans with several thoughts concerning who will replace him, especially as the club is facing hard times.
Nevertheless, two defenders can be brought in at low costs to fill the space left by Christensen. Interestingly, both are of Nigerian descent and have also spent quality time playing in Europe. So below are the two Nigerian players that can replace Christensen.
1. Kevin Akpoguma
Christensen will only be missed for a few reasons if Akpoguma is brought in to replace him. The 1899 Hoffenheim defender is disciplined and also has the no-nonsense attitude that Tuchel requires.
Goal scoring is also another quality the Super Eagles defender has. So with him, the Blues will also have chances of getting goals from corner kicks more often.
2. Semi Ajayi
Another Nigerian center-back that should replace departing Andres Christensen is Ajayi. The defender has spent a couple of seasons in the EPL and EFL playing for West Bromwich Albion.
He has 2 assists and a goal to his name this season, a record that shows he is also good at going forward. Tuchel can use the Nigerian to rebuild his defense if he is signed by the club.
