On Saturday, Everton and Liverpool will play in the first Merseyside derby of the 2022–23 season at Goodison Park. After five Premier League games this season, the Toffees are without a victory, while Liverpool have won two straight after snatching a win over Newcastle United in the final seconds on Wednesday night.
Although neither Merseyside powerhouse has had a particularly impressive start, after just five games, they are now separated by five points and 11 positions in the Premier League rankings.

Liverpool possible starting XI:
Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Elliott, Fabinho, Carvalho; Salah, Firmino, Diaz
Brentford vs Leeds United
Leeds United will have the opportunity to claim their first Premier League away victory of the season when they visit Brentford on Saturday.
The Peacocks prevailed 2-1 and sealed their position in the top division by scoring in stoppage time in their most recent meeting between these teams on the final day of the 2021–22 season.
These teams are currently separated by two points. In a game with limited opportunities but lots of suspense and late drama, Brentford rallied back to draw 1-1 with Crystal Palace for the second straight league game.

Chelsea vs West Ham United
Chelsea and West Ham United will face off in a London derby in the Premier League on Saturday.
After Southampton rallied to win 2-1 on Tuesday, the Blues dropped two straight away matches for the first time since December 2020. In a midweek match, David Moyes’ Hammers overcame adversity by overcoming Tottenham at home to earn a point.
Chelsea’s injury-riddled start to the season continued when Ruben Loftus-Cheek was forced to abandon the match against Southampton in the middle of the week due to a hamstring issue.
Chelsea possible starting XI: Mendy; Fofana, Silva, Koulibaly; Azpilicueta, Kovacic, Jorginho, Cucurella; Ziyech, Sterling, Mount.

Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace
Newcastle United will play Crystal Palace in a Premier League game at St. James’ Park on Saturday as they attempt to quickly move past their heartbreaking loss at Anfield.
The Magpies suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Jurgen Klopp’s men on Wednesday, while the visitors were kept to a 1-1 draw with Brentford. After netting the opening goal for Newcastle against Liverpool in the 38th minute, Alexander Isak would have been dreaming of such an ideal situation transpiring. One of the ideal debuts is to score the game-winning goal for the visiting team at Anfield.

Nottingham Forest vs AFC Bournemouth
On Saturday afternoon, Nottingham Forest welcome Bournemouth to the City Ground in a bid to revive their failing Premier League campaigns.
The Tricky Trees suffered a six-goal defeat to reigning champions Manchester City in the middle of the week, while the managerless Cherries held Wolverhampton Wanderers to a scoreless draw. Forest supporters arguably had more hope than expectation when they went to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night, but their hopes were quickly dashed by Erling Braut Haaland’s outstanding first-half performance.

Tottenham vs Fulham
Tottenham Hotspur will be seeking an immediate return to winning ways in the Premier League when Fulham goes across the capital for the London derby on Saturday.
In the previous week, Fulham overcame Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1 while West Ham United held Antonio Conte’s men to a 1-1 draw. After Wednesday’s 1-1 draw at West Ham, where Tomas Soucek’s goal in the second half countered Thilo Kehrer’s own goal, Antonio Conte could not hold back. Conte won’t be befriending VAR personnel any time soon.
Tottenham Hotspur possible starting XI:
Lloris; Sanchez, Dier, Davies; Emerson, Hojbjerg, Bissouma, Sessegnon; Richarlison, Kane, Son
Fulham possible starting XI:
Leno; Tete, Ream, Adarabioyo, Robinson; Reed, Palhinha; Decordova-Reid, Pereira, Kebano; Mitrovic
Wolves vs Southampton
Wolverhampton Wanderers will travel to Southampton on Saturday afternoon in search of their first Premier League victory of the season.
After recent wins over Leicester City and Chelsea, the Saints are currently in mid-table, while the visiting squad is currently in the relegation zone.
Even if Bournemouth had conceded nine goals to Liverpool and had no permanent manager in place, Wolves supporters would have been skeptical of their team’s scoring on the South Coast.
Wolverhampton Wanderers possible starting XI:
Sa; Jonny; Collins, Kilman, Ait-Nouri; Nunes, Neves, Moutinho; Podence, Jimenez, Neto
Southampton possible starting XI:
Bazunu; Walker-Peters, Bella-Kotchap, Salisu, Perraud; Ward-Prowse, Diallo; Elyounoussi, Aribo, Armstrong; Adams
Aston Villa vs Man City
On Saturday night, Manchester City will attempt to return to the top of the Premier League standings—at least for the ensuing 24 hours—by traveling to face Aston Villa. The previous week, the champions overcame Nottingham Forest by a score of six to zero, while Steven Gerrard’s squad suffered a 2-1 defeat to early leaders Arsenal.
Although Scott Parker, not Steven Gerrard, will be the first manager fired from a Premier League position this year, the 42-year-old has expressed concern about his position as Villa’s manager.
Aston Villa possible starting XI:
Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne; Luiz, Kamara, Ramsey; Bailey, Watkins, Buendia
Manchester City possible starting XI:
Ederson; Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Gomez; De Bruyne, Rodri, Gundogan; Mahrez, Haaland, Alvarez
