Those players have been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award which is usually given to the best youngsters in the English Premier League within the course of a single season. The nominated players are aged 23 and under.
The shortlist consisted of two Arsenal players and two Crystal Palace players.
Below are the eight players on the shortlist in no particular order:
1. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
2. Phil Foden (Manchester City)
3. Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace)
4. Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace)
5. Mason Mount (Chelsea)
6. Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)
7. Declan Rice (West Ham United)
8. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
Of the eight players nominated, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Bukayo Saka, and Phil Foden have been the most impressive youngsters in the English Premier League this season. Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored two goals and provided twelve assists in the league.
Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka has been his club’s best player so far this season having scored 11 goals and provided 6 assists in the English Premier League.
Phil Foden has been a core part of Manchester City’s team and he has contributed to the course with nine goals and five assists in the English Premier League this season as Manchester City aims for their fourth league title in five years. Chelsea midfielder, Mason Mount has also been impressive for Chelsea in the English Premier League this season.
