Understandably, this has elicited conflicting reactions from members of the general public, especially across social media platforms. The economic growth and developmental of Lagos state are based on the increasing number of manufacturing industries, trades and direct foreign investments. Kaduna state does not have many industries but is blessed with huge and abundant arable land from which agricultural activities is being carried out. The agric outputs are transported to the Lagos state and southeast to boost the availability of food.

The landmass of Kaduna state is more than the landmass of the entire southeast. This perhaps is the reason why security matters became complicated in the state. The bandits take advantage of the rough terrain in the state to launch attacks on remote and distant villages. Sometimes they kidnap innocent motorists on federal highways in order to demand huge ransoms from their families.

The southeast may be less than Kaduna state in terms of landmass but the region remains strategic and crucial for the growth of Nigeria’s economy. The revenue generated from manufacturing industries and other trade enterprises in the South East contributes significantly to Nigeria’s economic strength.
