Enzo Maresca is inheriting a squad full of talent, and will surely be excited to work alongside talents like Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku.

Mauricio Pochettino, who was faced with an unsettling amount of new signings, has laid solid foundations for Maresca to succeed, who is inheriting a tight-knit team.

Of course, there’s still obvious areas to improve, a new goalkeeper will be required as well as a new forward.

And in a summer in which Raheem Sterling could leave Chelsea, Summerville does seem a credible replacement.

The 22-year-old is perhaps not destined for the very top of the game, but would certainly offer Chelsea a reliable and exciting option across a season which could go beyond 50 games.

Of course, Chelsea’s main priority right now seems to be signing a ball-playing goalkeeper to ignite Maresca’s new possession-based philosophy.

And the club have recently been exploring a move for player who was actually wanted when Graham Potter was still around….CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>
