From Nketia’s assist, Nelson opened scoring for Arsenal in the 8th minute of action. The half ended with struggle from both sides. Although Arsenal later intensified their efforts to getting more goals but the result remains the same as the Gunners got the victory.
In another venue, Chelsea at Stamford Bridge weren’t particularly on top of their game against Brighton. The Blues have been struggling in previous games especially in the premier league.
The first half ended in stalemate but Chelsea were very lucky in the 50th minute, scoring from Jackson’s strike. The 2 sides later failed to get more goals as the game remain the same, giving Chelsea the necessary edge after regulation time.
Liverpool also got the result they deserve at Anfield against Leicester City, after an entertaining scene that will certainly be memorable to many of their supporters. MCAteer put visiting Leicester City in front about 3 minutes into the game but Gakpo levelled for the Reds in the 3rd minute of the second half to make it 1-1.
However, Szoboslai put Liverpool in the lead with 70th minute strike to secure the next Round ticket for the Reds in front of their teeming supporters. Jota completed the victory for Liverpool with a late strike to make it 3-1 as Liverpool progresses to the next phase.
Chelsea and Arsenal got results out of nothing to progress but the story isn’t the same for Man City after struggling without results against New Castle….CONTINUE READING
