The tree is still being used by many people but many have questions on whether it treats the 40 diseases as people claim.
However, doctors have now come out to confirm all the myths, truth and facts sorrounding the tree. According to several users and doctors who talked to the Standard Digital, they have revealed that the tree has its own advantage and disadvantages.
According to research, Neem tree is used as insecticide. Applying Neem leaf extract to the teeth and gum will reduce plaque formation. It also reduces bacteria forming in the teeth.
The extract from Neem tree can be used to cure skin disease, head lice, wounds and skin ulcers as well as mosquito repellent and as skin softener. An extract of Neem tree can also be applied on skin to repel black fly.
On the other hand, Neem tree has its own disadvantages like when taken for a very long time can cause kidney and liver problems. Children taking its seed or leaf by mouth are likely to vomit, diarrhea, have drowsiness, blood disorders, seizures, loss of consciousness, coma and brain disorder.
When taken through the mouth during pregnancy can cause miscarriage. Neem tree can make immune system more active hence worsening other disease’s symptoms.
The plant can also harm sperms which will also reduce fertility in other ways. “If you are planning to have children, please avoid using Neem tree.” Experts have warned.
