His initial employment was providing assistance to individuals who hunted or rode public transportation. Because of his passion for hunting and his proficiency with a rifle, he frequently traveled across the Tugela River into Zululand.
It was there that he became acquainted with the Ngunis and learned to speak Zulu. Additionally, he made relationships with the leaders of the community.
His mother passed away not long after her son was run over and killed by a car. When he resided on land close to the Tugela River, his appearance was like this. He became more well-liked among the Zulu princes as a result of his familiarity with their customs and language, both of which he gained from his encounters with Zulu people.
In the 1800s, when they were still young, John and Catherine Pierce made their home on the frontier between British-controlled Natal and Zululand. During this time period, John’s lover was Catherine Pierce, who was the daughter of a white pioneer.
They were successful in their efforts to get married. However, despite the fact that Dunn was offered women by the Zulu people, he declined to accept them. Catherine, his wife, felt betrayed after he agreed to the terms of the arrangement.
It was clear that he had a strong command of the Zulu language. Cetshwayo put him to work as a mediator between the Zulu people and the white people during the discussions.
Cetshwayo bestowed upon him the gifts of land and wives. Dunn established his residence in Mangethe, which is located in close proximity to the Ngoye Forest.
His life also included the Anglo-Zulu War, which he fought in. He was the father of 117 children and had 6000 direct descendants from his 48 wives..<<CONTINUE READING>>
