New Boss, Erik Ten Hag selected an unchanged XI for tonight’s match, with Cristiano Ronaldo, Casemiro dropping to bench once again.
Erik Ten Hag’s United dominated the first half & looked dangerous when they go forward, while Leicester City on the other struggled to keep the ball & were also lacking in confidence.
The Manchester based outfit broke the deadlock on the 23rd minute via a brilliant pass from Diogo Dalot from the back to England international, Marcus Rashford who did well to pick out his fellow countryman, Jadon Sancho who got past his marker & the goalkeeper to calmly slot the ball home.
Leicester City could have gotten an equaliser courtesy a fantastic free-kick from James Maddison early in the second half, who got his effort on target, but David De Gea was alert to the danger as he pulled off a good save.
United allowed the Foxes back into the game, with the home side offering real threats in attack & causing the away side problems, which forced Ten Hag into making changes, the Dutchman sent in Cristiano Ronaldo & Casemiro to add something new into the team.
The Mancunians held on to secure all three points.
