On Sunday afternoon, London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal play each other in the Premier League.
Manchester City is currently in second place, two points ahead of Arsenal.
Even a draw on Sunday could drop Arsenal below Manchester City in the table.
Chelsea could draw Newcastle for fourth place with a win, depending on how other teams do.
The Blues are looking to bounce back from last week’s 4-1 loss at Brighton.
Arsenal and Chelsea both played in the Champions League and Europa League this week.
Both teams won their groups and moved on to the next round of the competitions.
Ben Chilwell got hurt against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday, so the Chelsea defender won’t be able to play on Sunday.
Chelsea midfielder Denis Zakaria also left the game with an injury on Wednesday. He will join Reece James, Kepa, N’Golo Kante, Wesley Fofana, and Chilwell on the sidelines.
Arsenal’s injured players Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko are expected to play again, but Takehiro Tomiyasu is likely to miss the game after getting hurt against FC Zurich.
Tottenham vs Liverpool
On Sunday, Tottenham Hotspur plays Liverpool in a big Premier League game.
Before this weekend’s games, the visitors are eight points behind the top four spots, while Spurs are five points behind league leaders Arsenal.
Spurs should go into Sunday’s match against Liverpool with confidence after their 2-1 victory away to Marseille on Tuesday.
Antonio Conte’s side went down again to Chancel Mbemba’s thunderous header on the stroke of half-time, but Clement Lenglet’s equaliser brought them back into second position, and Pierre-Emilthe e Hojbjerg’s injury-time winner claimed top spot.
Tottenham came from behind to win after trailing Bournemouth 2-0 last Saturday, but Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies, and Rodrigo Bentancur turned the match around.
That victory assured they would stay in the top four regardless of their outcome against Liverpool, albeit Manchester United, Chelsea, and their next opponents all had a game in hand on Conte’s side.
Not having beaten Liverpool in their past 10 meetings in all competitions may be a psychological obstacle for Spurs.
