The most talked-about footballers in the world are still Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, despite the fact that their professional careers at the greatest level are drawing to an end....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

In addition to their outstanding standing at the top of the sport, both players had successful 2021–22 seasons, demonstrating their continued ability to compete at the highest level.

Ronaldo intended to leave Man Utd in the summer of 2022 in order to participate in the Champions League, but the Red Devils were unable to provide that for him because the previous season saw the worst Premier League finish in history. Ronaldo remained a United player after the transfer window closed in early September, though, as he was unable to find a new team.

Messi, on the other hand, had a lot more laid-back summer in 2022 than he did in 2021 because he remained with Paris Saint-Germain rather than switching teams like he did in 2021. The legendary Barcelona player departed Camp Nou on a free transfer since his contract couldn’t be renewed.

Ronaldo and Messi are frequently compared, and their fans fervently argue about who is the greatest player of all time, despite the fact that both left La Liga and no longer compete in the same local league.

In 2022–2023, Messi outscored Ronaldo in terms of goals. In nine games in all competitions, the PSG star has scored five goals, while Ronaldo’s lone strike came from the penalty spot in the Europa League.

Ronaldo requested to leave Manchester United and missed almost all of preseason. As a result, he did not start the opening Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ronaldo came off the bench in the second half with Man Utd down 2-0, but he was unable to score as Ten Hag suffered his first defeat in charge of Man Utd.

Ronaldo started the following game, which Brentford won 4-0, and he played the entire 90 minutes.

The 37-year-old took part in all 80 of United’s four straight victories over Liverpool, Southampton, Leicester, and Arsenal from the bench.

In his first game of the 2022–23 season, a 4-0 victory over Nantes at the Trophee des Champions, Messi scored his first goal of the year. When Neymar’s deflected ball reached the Argentine, Messi circled the keeper and shot with his weaker right foot into the open goal.

In the first Ligue 1 match of the season, Messi scored twice against Clermont Foot. In the 80th minute, with PSG up 3-0, Messi advanced, linked up with Neymar, and then placed the ball with his left foot in the far corner.

Six minutes later, Messi broke in behind and was expertly set up by Leandro Paredes. In front of his own goal, Messi controlled the ball with his chest before kicking an exhilarating bicycle kick past Mory Diaw to make the score 5-0.

Messi did not score in the 5-2 victory over Montpellier, but he did score and assist in the following 7-1 victory over Lille.
