With the win, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp became the second coach to win all trophies for a single club in the Premier League, after Sir Alex Ferguson did so for the Red Devils in his twenty-five (25) years as the club’s coach.
Unfortunately, there is an unfavourable record about those clubs that win the Community Shield in the last eleven years. Will this record be broken by Liverpool FC this season?
The winners of the trophy in the last eleven years include Manchester United (2011, 2013 and 2016), Manchester City (2012, 2018 and 2019), Arsenal (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2020), Leicester City (2021) and Liverpool FC (2022). But among these winners, only one won it and went ahead to win the Premier League in that season.
In the last eleven years, here are the winners of the competition, Manchester United (2013), Manchester City (2012, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022), Chelsea FC (2015 and 2017), Leicester City (2016) and Liverpool FC (2020). So only Manchester City has been able to win the FA Community Shield and also win the Premier League in 2018.
