The items include cars, bags of rice, tricycles, among other empowerment tools.

Chidoka who handed over the items in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area (LGA), on Saturday, said the beneficiaries were no fewer than 400 members of PDP , including polling agents during his election in 2019.

The items shared are bags of 50kg rice, four units of Sports Utility Vehicles, 15 Tricycles, five Shuttle buses, 20 sets of sewing machines, 30 generators and cash.

The lawmaker, who recalled two men who were shot to death during the election, also gave empowerment items to their widows.

Chidoka commended the tenacity of PDP faithful who, he said, stood their grounds in defense of his mandate which was later reclaimed in Court.

He condemned the politics of violence, saying that those responsible for the death of anybody in the name of election will live with the consequence of their actions.

According to Chidoka, the election that should have been peaceful became a great fight because a candidate left his area to come and cause trouble in Obosi which resulted in the death of two people whose widows are there to be supported.

“But you stood your ground and ensured that we won, I promised that I will not abandon you, that is why I have called you today, you will go home with items that will make your households’ economies better,” he said.

Chidoka said apart from the empowerment programmes, he had Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Business Loans and employment to constituents and projects, including roads, boreholes, street lights and classrooms blocks across the 17 communities that he represented promising to do more in the future.

He said his Constituency was populated largely with business people because there was no land for them to farm, hence the need to empower them with skills and finance.

According to him, “some roads in my Constituency have been abandoned but I am working assiduously to fix them because of the large population and their strategic position in the Anambra road network.

“I have secured a N500 million CBN loan for businesses and my people are already accessing it,” he said.

A beneficiary of the tricycle, Mrs Kosiso Akujimma, the widow of Ifeanyi Akujimma who was shot dead during the 2019 election, said she hoped that the gift would give her a new lease of life.

Akujimma said she thought the society had forgotten her with her five children and thanked Chidoka for remembering her two years after.
