Some defensive players could still leave Chelsea this summer before the transfer window closes, with Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta rumoured to be interested in leaving this summer, with Barcelona reportedly interested in signing both players.

According to reports, Thomas Tuchel will be given a £200 million war chest this summer to rebuild the Chelsea squad, with the money believed to include money from player sales, which may not be enough to carry out the proper squad rebuild that the team requires, given the inflated transfer market price of players.

The Chelsea manager could turn to some loan players to help out in the Rebuilding of the squad, with the likes of Emerson Palmieri to be back up for Ben Chilwell, Conor Gallagher for the midfied, and Levi Colwill for the central defense.

However, new defensive recruitment is also expected to be brought in.

1. The Three Central Defenders

Thiago Silva – Despite being 37 years old, Silva is the most experienced central defender on the Chelsea roster and would still be crucial to the team next season.

Jules Kounde – A move for the Sevilla defender fell through last summer, but Chelsea are ready to bring him in this summer. He could be the right man to replace Andreas Christensen on the right side of the three-man central defense.

Presnel Kimpembe — According to sources, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen on bringing his former player Presnel Kimpembe to Chelsea this summer to replace the departed Antonio Rudiger.

The 26-year-old may play on Chelsea’s left side of a three-man defense.

Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr, and Levi Colwill are all possible backups for the center defense position.

The Wing Backs

Reece James – James has proven to be dependable this season, and he would undoubtedly be Chelsea’s first choice for the right wing back position next season.

Ben Chilwell — Following a long-term injury, Chilwell is expected to be fully healthy for first-team action next season, allowing him to reclaim his left wing position.

Next season, Emerson Palmieri and Hudson–Odoi could be used as wing back backups.
