Chelsea spent big on signing the likes of Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling in the summer. However, they have been struggling to perform well ever since the beginning of this season.

Chelsea have also been struggling with consistent injuries this season. Several first team starters including the likes of Armando Broja, Reece James, Mendy, Sterling and Pulisic are currently injured.

The Blues have spent a lot of money on signing promising youngsters. Chelsea spent €35 million on signing Madueke from PSV and he’s currently 20 years old. Madueke is Chelsea’s second most expensive under-21 transfer in history.

Chelsea spent €64 million on signing Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. The Blues signed him at the age of 20 making him their most expensive Under-21 transfer in history.

Oscar joined Chelsea from Internacional in 2012 for a fee of €32 million at the age of 20 making him Chelsea’s third most expensive under-21 transfer in history.

Carney Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea from Aston Villa for a fee of €18 million at the age of 18 years. He’s Chelsea fifth most expensive Under-21 transfer in history.

David Datro Fofana joined the Blues from Molde for a fee of €12 million at the age of 20. Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht in 2012 for a fee of €15 million at the age of 18.
