Since the summer transfer window opened, the London club have been busy. Although, they haven’t officially signed any new player, but we can see that they are making some really big moves and changes.
About a week ago, Romelu Lukaku was loaned back to Inter Milan after failing to deliver on what he was signed to do. Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are believed to be outgoing players too.
From all indications, Thomas Tuchel is finally building his own personal team. Todd Boehly, the new owner of the club seems to be giving the Bavarian coach just what he wants.
Tuchel says he wants Sterling, Chelsea make a move for Sterling. Tuchel wants Raphinha, Chelsea agree deal to sign the Brazilian.
We all know that it is very hard for a manager to succeed and maintain consistent success in a team he didn’t build.
When Thomas Tuchel signed came to Chelsea and beat the odds to win the Uefa Champions League, he did more than he was expected.
This made many people to dream that Chelsea would achieve even more success in the just concluded 2022/23 season.
But after fighting till the very last days of the season to seal top four, it was very clear that Tuchel doesn’t yet have his own team.
From the latest transfer reports we’ve received, Chelsea are very likely to replace last season’s front three of Werner, Lukaku and Havertz with a new front three of Raphinha, Havertz and Sterling.
Would This Be An Upgrade Or Downgrade
Personally, this would be a massive upgrade in my opinion. To say that Lukaku and Werner underperformed for Chelsea is a massive understatement.
Both goal machines have failed to do what they were signed for and now that Lukaku has been sent out on loan, just one year after his record move, if Werner leaves too, to be replaced by the guys Tuchel reportedly wants, then the new attack will definitely work better than the last one.
Several reports have confirmed that Chelsea have agreed a fee for Raphinha and are preparing to make another bid for Raheem Sterling.
