Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and Tottenham Hotspurs manager Antonio Conte have each been charged by the Football Association (FA) over their conduct on Sunday after the Premier League match between them, according to the BBC Sports....CONTINUE READING
The game saw both Tuchel and Conte being sent off after an angry confrontation as Tottenham equalised six minutes into stoppage time.
The conduct of the two managers is alleged to be improper and both have been given until Thursday, 18 August to respond to the charge.
This comes after an investigation launched by the FA into Tuchel’s post-match comments about referee Anthony Taylor, where the Blues coach uggested that he should not referee Chelsea matches in future.
Chelsea were angry by Taylor’s decision not to penalise Rodrigo Bentancur for a challenge on fellow midfielder Kai Havertz in the build-up to Tottenham’s first equaliser.
This led to Tuchel and Conte going head to head during the match when they received yellow cards.
The temper would late rise at full time as both managers almost engaged in a fight before they were sent off.
The red cards handed to them don’t mean they are would not be in the dug-out for next weekend’s games.
