Just last Friday, Chelsea were very close to signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla after the Blues sent an offer worth £55million to the Spanish club.

At the beginning of this week, Barcelona made effort to hijack the deal which eventually made the Blues to pull out of the race on Tuesday.

According To Fabrizio Romano, Jules Kounde left Sevilla camp on Thursday and travelled to Barcelona to finalize his move to Camp Nou.

Jules Kounde’s transfer saga is the second time that Chelsea and Barcelona will rival each other this summer for the transfer of a Player, and that’s even leaving out the transfer of Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele from the discussion.

This has made many Football enthusiasts to opine that Chelsea has lost the pull to attract top Players because there’s no reason that could make Players to be rejecting the West London club.

However, this isn’t true. Chelsea still has their pull. They have just been quite unlucky this summer. According to Telegraph, Frenkie De Jong is opened to leaving Barcelona this summer but he’ll only join one club and that’s Chelsea.

Chelsea has never shown a strong interest in the 25-year-old Midfielder this summer. It was Manchester United that was chasing Frenkie De Jong.

Erik Ten Hag wanted to make De Jong his first signing and the Red Devils had even reached an agreement with Barcelona over the transfer fee but the Netherlands National made it known that he’s not going to join Manchester United.

If Frenkie De Jong is ready to snub a move to Old Trafford for Chelsea, then those saying that Chelsea can’t attract World class Players are wrong.

Frenkie De Jong is one of the best Midfielders in Europe right now and he prefers Chelsea to Manchester United. If that’s not a pull, I don’t know what else to call it.
