The blues where expected to be active in the transfer market especially with the club takeover by Todd Boehly officially confirmed last month, the likes of Manchester city, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have strengthened in key positions.
The transfer rumors are not even in Chelsea’s favour with their three major summer transfer targets currently linked with a switch to other clubs, Barcelona are now favourites to sign Jules Kounde and retain the service of Ousmane Dembele.
While Manchester city are now in the driving seat to sign left back Marc Cucurella from Brighton and hove Albion, Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel are now running out of options to strengthen their squad.
