That is according to the Telegraph.

Well, the Belgium international seems absolutely desperate to leave Chelsea for Inter Milan on a permanent basis, having spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan at the San Siro.

A story from Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Lukaku has no intention of returning to London for pre-season training at Cobham, where Mauricio Pochettino is expecting him to be by July 13th.

Now, further details about the 30-year-old’s desire to leave Stamford Bridge have emerged, as the Telegraph believe he is happy to give up £1m-a-year in order to get away from Chelsea.

Lukaku is said to earn £140,000-a-week after tax on his current salary, and has told Inter Milan he will take a £20,000-a-week pay cut on those earnings just for them.

The Telegraph add that the Italian giants are now preparing a £35m bid for the Belgian striker, which includes bonus payments.

If a £35m bid does arrive from Inter Milan for Lukaku, Chelsea should just accept it and wash their hands of the Antwerp-born forward.

By the sounds of it, Lukaku is likely to be more trouble than he’s worth if he does come back to Stamford Bridge, so we feel it would be best for all parties if Chelsea accept £35m and look to reinvest those funds into a new striker.

Of course, that would represent a staggering £62.5m loss on the £97.5m Chelsea spent to sign him from Inter Milan back in August 2021.

However – at this stage – Lukaku is not really worth much more than £35m after scoring just ten goals in Serie A last season, so it is time for Chelsea to cut their losses and get rid of the problematic Belgian….READFULL
