Chelsea have agreed to part ways with Romelu Lukaku on loan but are demanding $27 million and seeing Jesus as a potential replacement, reported Goal.com. The Blues are expected to make an offer for Jesus in the coming weeks.

Jesus still has a year left on his contract, and Manchester City are valuing the Brazilian player at $54 million, the report further claimed.

Following Manchester City’s announcement of Erling Haaland’s deal, Jesus made up his mind about leaving the club. However, he is certain that he wants to continue playing in the Premier League, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has a credible record in the European transfer market.

Romano also claimed that even Real Madrid were in contact with Jesus’ representatives a while ago, but the Champions League and La Liga winners have not made an offer for the Brazilian playmaker.

Out of 38 games in the Premier League last season, Jesus played in just 28, starting only 21 of those. Jesus, who joined Manchester City from Brazilian club Palmeiras in 2017, is expected to further fall in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order with the arrival of Haaland.

In 28 appearances, Jesus scored eight goals and nine assists. Out of those eight strikes, four came in a single game — in City’s 5-1 win over Watford.

Apart from Chelsea, Arsenal have shown strong interest in Jesus, as it was earlier reported that the Gunners have made the center forward one of their top targets going into the underway 2022 summer window.

Even Antonio Conte-managed Tottenham are also in the race to sign Jesus and have been monitoring his situation at Etihad Stadium quite closely, according to Spanish outlet Diario AS.

The 25-year-old Jesus has already won four Premier League titles at City apart from several other domestic trophies. He was a part of the side that finished runners-up in the Champions League in the 2020-21 season.
