Below are the grave mistakes by Potter.
1. Potter should not have started the match with Kai Havertz ahead of Christian Pulisic. Havertz is a great talent but he limited the striking force of Chelsea which would have been multiplied if Pulisic had been on the starting lineup.
2. Potter should also not have started the match with Denis Zakaria ahead of Ruben Loftus Cheek. Loftus Cheek has shown to be a great midfielder which he has crowned with some man of the match performances, his vision and skills would have benefited Chelsea more if he had started the match.
3. Finally, Potter should have started the match with a more experienced left-back like Cucurella ahead of Ben Chilwell. It was evident in the match as some much needed crosses were not delivered into the box.
