After scoring two goals in Napoli’s 3-0 victory over Spezia on Sunday, Victor Osimhen, a 24-year-old Nigerian international, scored his 16th league goal of the season.

His club is enjoying an unprecedented run in both the Serie A and the Champions League as a result of the Nigerian international’s excellent form thus far this season. Victor Osimhen is currently the player with the most goals scored in the Italian Serie A.

Napoli has won 18, drawn 2, and lost one of their 21 league games thus far this season. They are on track to win the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years, currently holding a 13-point lead in the standings.

According to Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, the Napoli striker has reportedly expressed his desire to win the Champions League with Napoli.

The Italian publication says that Osimhen told Azzurri president Aurelio De Laurentiis at their first meeting that he wanted to win the European championship before signing the contract that keeps him with the club until 2025.

De Laurentiis was said to have been told by Osimhen, ‘I want to win the Champions League.’

This seems like the best time for Osimhen, who is in good form, to help Napoli win the Champions League.

Naija News recalls that the Italian team finished first in their Champions League group stage with 15 points after winning all six of their games.

They are currently getting ready for their match against Eintracht Frankfurt on February 21 in the Round of 16 tournaments. They will be two steps away from the Champions League final if they win the two-leg contest.
