In a notice from the registrar of the Apex Court sent to counsels of both parties and obtained by The press, the Court will hear the appeal of NNPP and cross-appeals of other parties.

Governor Yusuf is challenging the judgment of three panels of the Court of Appeal which nullified his victory and upheld the ruling of the election petition tribunal.

The Justice Osedebay-led petition tribunal declared the APC candidate, Nasiru Gawuna, the winner of the March Governorship poll in Kano.

The appeal court dismissed the appeal filed by Governor Yusuf based on his membership status in his party and faulted the tribunal for omitting the ground in her judgment.

The tribunal had sacked Governor Yusuf based on the use of illegal ballot papers found not signed, dated, or stamped by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
