Mount has been one of the most outstanding players for Chelsea over the past few seasons and a man that every manager that has been there can really rely on.

However – he has really struggled to make an impact this season – with injuries and lacklustre performances leading to suggestions that he is now down at the club – that he will be allowed to leave.

He’s been linked with a host of clubs already, including Liverpool and Manchester United, and it has also been claimed that Chelsea will demand a massive £70 million to allow him to go.

Now – according to The Telegraph, claim that Liverpool were desperate to sign the player but United have stolen a march on the target and he has even reportedly agreed personal terms over a move to Old Trafford

Mount is now expected to leave Chelsea, along with Matteo Kovacic who is in talks with Manchester City.

However – amid the speculation – McCoist has told Chelsea that they should keep hold of Mount – Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I don’t care if it’s Chelsea or what team you are, it’s important to have players that have a relationship with the club.

‘It’s not the be all and end all, but it’s important to have that.

“I wouldn’t be letting Mason Mount go on ability, that’s first and foremost.

‘And I certainly wouldn’t be letting him go in the respect of what he means to the supporters and how he feels to the club.”

It seemed that Mount was destined to leave CHELSEA as he was never going to get the contract offer that he desires – so this is probably the best thing for the man

It may be a mistake to let the man go – but if Chelsea can sign an adequate replacement – fans wont care too much
