Chelsea were highly interested in signing the 21 year old midfielder following his impressive performance in the 2022 World Cup which was held in Qatar.
The Blues were unable to match Enzo Fernandez’s release clause. However, Chelsea managed to secure his signature on the deadline day of the January transfer window.
Benfica sold Joao Felix to Atletico Madrid for a fee of €127 million. Felix graduated from the club’s academy and was highly impressive in performance during his time at Benfica.
Benfica spent €34 million on signing Darwin Nunez from Almeria and later sold him to Liverpool for a huge fee of €80 million. Nunez was highly impressive in performance during his time at Benfica but dropped in form after joining the Reds.
Benfica sold Ruben Dias to Manchester City for a fee of €72 million and he graduated from the club’s academy.
