The Blaugranas are eager to further enhance the squad this summer after signing Jules Kounde, Raphinha, and Franck Kessie among others this transfer window.
The 5 times European Champions are in desperate need of a right-back with recent reports claiming that Sergino Dest could be on his way out of Camp Nou and one player that has been linked as a possible replacement is Hamari Traore.
According to reports coming from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona is ready to send an opening offer of around €3 million for Traore in the next 48 hours.
The report notes that the Malian right-back is on gross wages of around €2 million per year at Rennes and the entire financial package to sign him would be easily affordable for the Catalans.
Mundo Deportivo adds that at 30, he might not be a long-term solution but Traore has a lot of experience under his belt and his leadership skills can also add value to the team. His attacking output last season would also indicate that he can be a good fit in Xavi’s system.
It remains to be seen if Traore will end up as a Barcelona player before the end of the transfer window.
