Arthur Melo takes major Liverpool step as 129-day wait ends
Layton Stewart’s second Premier League 2 goal of the season was enough to secure victory for Liverpool’s U21s away at Leicester City.
Stewart, who had not found the back of the net in the league since last month’s score-draw with Brighton, was on hand to fire the young Reds ahead after 33 minutes.

However, on Friday evening the professional football in England returned as Aston Villa and Southampton played out a drab 1-0 in the Midlands, while Nottingham Forest and Fulham played out a more entertaining five-goal thriller on the other side of the region.
