The former Olympique Marseille football club star was given his first ever start in the English Premier League by coach Mikel Arteta, and he was able to impress against their opponent.
William Saliba started in Arsenal’s defence line alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel and Ben White and they were all fantastic in the game.
A first half goal from Brazilian star Gabriel Martinelli and a late own goal from Marc Guehi were enough to give the Gunners a well deserved 2-0 victory over their opponent.
William Saliba was outstanding for the Gunners in the game, and he was able to help goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale to keep a clean sheet, and his excellent performance also helped him to win the Man of the Match award.
