According to the national president of the affected villages, Awemi Dio Maisamari, the armed assailants who rode into the villages in 150 motorcycles, armed with AK-47 assorted rifles, started carrying out their attack from noon till about 6 PM.
However, with no help coming from security agencies, the villagers mobilized to repel the attackers. It was reported that as the villagers were already recording success in chasing away their attackers, a white helicopter came from nowhere and start shooting at the villagers which eventually led to the death of about 32 people and the destruction of properties while many incurred various degrees of injuries.
Maisamari said the armed killers launch another attack the next day and abduct scores of persons as the villagers were trying to bury their dead. The village leader reveals that as it stands now thousands of villagers have been displaced from their settlements thereby causing a humanitarian crisis in Southern Kaduna.
