Only six Argentine players have been signed for over 50 million Euros in football history. These players include Fernandez, G. Higuain, Angel Di Maria, Lisandro Martinez and Crespo.
However, Martinez who joined Manchester united for 57.37 million Euros, is currently one of the best centre-backs in the 2022/23 premier league season. While Angel Di Maria who was signed by Paris Saint-Germain in 2015/16 season for 63 million Euros is ranked fourth on the list.
The World cup winner is currently playing for Juventus in the 2022/23 season. Asides Lisandro Martinez and Enzo, another most expensive Argentine player who is currently playing in the premier league is Romero.
Other most expensive Argentine players in the top ten list include Otamendi who was signed by Manchester city in 2015/16 season for 44.5 million Euros and Mauro Icardi who was signed by Paris Saint-Germain for 50 million Euros.
Most of these players performed very well in the clubs that spent big money to sign them, while few of them failed to live up to expectations.
