Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Friday evening drew 2-2 against the home-based national team of Algeria in a test game ahead of Tuesday’s friendly clash against the Fennec Foxes main squad reports All Nigeria Soccer.
The game was originally billed to be played between the home-based teams of both nations but the Nigerian side failed to qualify for the Africa Nations Championship which Algeria will host next year.
The Algerian team to face Nigeria in Tuesday will play a friendly against Guinea later tonight (Friday).
Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro handed unofficial debuts to the duo of Raphael Onyedika and Ebube Duru.
The first half ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts with CR Belouizdad center forward Karim Aribi getting on the scoresheet.
The Super Eagles managed to earn a draw at the end of the match courtesy of strikes from in-form Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi and Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers.
Iwobi and Dessers came off the bench to salavage a draw for the three-time African champions.
Nigeria are facing African opposition this international break ahead of the resumption of the qualifiers for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
