Alexander Isak scored a stoppage-time penalty as Newcastle strengthened their Premier League top-four hopes with a remarkable 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Friday night.

However, Newcastle United had earlier looked like being made to resolve for a draw but Alexander Isak’s spot-kick earned a well-deserved three points which see them move to within a point of fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with a match in hand.

The hosts had earlier gone ahead midway through the first half through Emmanuel Dennis’ first goal for the club, but Alexander Isak leveled the game on the stroke of half-time when he volleyed home before registering the third goal of the game in the stoppage time to earned the much-needed victory for his team.
