Liverpool against Bournemouth was the first match to be played during the weekend, with Jurgen Klopp’s men wasting the chance to move to the top four.

Tottenham Hotspur made use of the opportunity to extend the gap with the Reds as they thrashed Nottingham Forest 3-0 to boost their hope of playing Champions League football next season. Chelsea extended their recent winning streak after beating Leicester City 3-1 at the King Power Stadium.

Manchester City on the other hand closed the gap on Arsenal to two, before the Gunners thrashed Fulham the following day to move five points clear of the Citizens. Manchester United settled for a draw against Southampton following a controversial decision by the referee.

For the mid-week games, Brighton and Hove Albion hosted Patrick Viera’s Crystal Palace at the Amex. Solly March’s first-half goal was enough for De Zerbi’s men to beat Palace.

After the trip to Old Trafford, Southampton hosted Thomas Frank’s Brentford at Saint Mary’s Stadium. Despite the home sides’ struggle to grab a point from the game, Ivan Toney’s first-half goal was able to push Southampton more to relegation.
