Inspector Olubu Apata, who served as the police prosecutor, informed the court that Babalola and two other individuals, currently fugitives, had stolen kegs of palm oil that belonged to Mrs. Taiwo Adeuya.

Apata stated, “The defendant and two accomplices, who are currently at large, conspired to steal 17 kegs of red palm oil worth N558,500, which belonged to Mrs. Taiwo Adeuya.” He alleged that the defendant committed the crime at around 6 am on January 24 in Ire Ekiti, located in the Oye Local Government area of the state. Apata added that the offense is punishable under Section 422, 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Laws of Ekiti State 2021.

Meanwhile, the defendant’s counsel, Gboyega Abiola, requested the court to grant his client bail, assuring the court that the defendant would comply with the bail conditions.
