In separate statements, the two APC leaders maintained that the allegations of rigging made by the opposition parties were baseless and lacked evidence.

President Buhari, in a statement issued by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, said that the APC won the elections fair and square, and that the PDP and LP should accept the results in good faith.

He said, “The allegations of rigging made by the PDP and LP are unfounded and without merit. The APC won the elections fair and square, and we urge the opposition parties to accept the results in good faith. If they have any evidence of rigging, they should approach the court with it.”

Similarly, Tinubu, in a statement issued by his media aide, Tunde Rahman, said that the allegations of rigging were a desperate attempt by the opposition parties to discredit the outcome of the elections.

He said, “The allegations of rigging made by the PDP and LP are baseless and lacking in evidence. They are a desperate attempt by the opposition parties to discredit the outcome of the elections.

If they have any evidence of rigging, they should approach the court with it. The APC won the elections fair and square, and we will not allow anyone to undermine the will of the people.”

The PDP and LP had earlier alleged that the elections were marred by widespread irregularities, including ballot box snatching, voter intimidation, and violence.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the APC as the winner of the elections, with the party securing the majority of seats in the federal and state legislative houses.
