Peseiro will be without team’s captain for the 2-1 win over Sierra Leone William Troost Ekong who has left the camp of the team following the injury he picked up during the course of yesterday’s win.

Ekong is the deputy captain but mostly wears the armband as main captain Ahmed Musa is mostly used as a substitute. When he was getting subbed off yesterday he handed the band to Moses Simon on the instructions of coach Peseiro.

Simon however passed the armband to Kenneth Omeruo who was about to be come on for the injured Ekong. Omeruo wore the band for the final minutes of the game.

He is expected to once again wear the band when they play away in Morocco against Sao Tome and Principe on Monday. It will be the first time the Leganes defender will captain Nigeria from the start in a competitive game since he broke into the team in 2013.
