1. Belly bulge.

The belly becomes bigger during the second trimester of pregnancy to accommodate the baby’s growth. However, the stomach tends to remain big after childbirth, research shows that it takes 6-8 weeks for the stomach to get back to its pre pregnancy size. This means that a woman who recently gave birth will still appear pregnant, as it takes time for the stomach to get back in shape.

2. Reduced urge for intimacy.

Information obtained from WebMD shows that it can take months for a woman to feel the urge to get intimate after childbirth. This is caused by the drop in the level of estrogen after childbirth coupled with the mother’s focus on the newborn child.

3. Bigger feet.

Many pregnant women tend to experience fluid retention, which causes the legs, ankles, and feet to swell during this period, this is medically known as edema.

According to WebMD, women tend to have a slightly different shoe size after childbirth, as the feet do not exactly return to their original size. A woman may need to go shoe shopping after childbirth because her old shoes may not size her.

4. Hair loss.
