However, there are a lot of other things you can use salt for to make your body healthy aside from cooking.

According to WebMD, a salt is a form of sodium chloride that serves as a preservative agent for foods, especially processed foods. In the same vein, salt can perform some healing on certain injuries or infections in our bodies.

1. When there’s inflammation or swelling from the holes beside the nail of your toes or fingers, you can use salt to heal it. This swelling or inflammation usually happens when you bite or pull out that thick, sharp skin beside your nails.

It can also happen when you have ingrown nails. Put some salt in warm water and stir it. Soak the affected toe or finger in salted warm water for a couple of minutes every day until the pain subsides. You can also use antibiotics as you follow this process.

2. When you have sores on your lips or in your mouth, you can put some salt in water and turn it until the salt mixes with the water. Put the salted water in your mouth but don’t swallow it.

Use it to rinse your mouth by swooshing it for a few minutes and spitting it out. If you do this every day for a few weeks, the sores in your mouth or on your lips will heal.

3. When you have skin infections like eczema, your skin looks red and scaly. Just add some salt to the water you want to use for bathing. Bathing with salt water can help you get rid of eczema on your skin.

Or you can just put a little salt and water on that part of your skin where there’s eczema. Allow it to dry for a few minutes before taking your shower.

4. If you get an insect bite from any of these tiny poisonous insects, that poison can irritate your skin for some hours. To ease the pain and inflammation, apply some salt and water to your skin and rub it gently.
