Man City take on Liverpool in the Community Shield this weekend and Pep Guardiola’s side will be eager to pick up from where they left off last season....CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLE>>>

The Cityzens have made some super signings this summer, bringing in the likes of Haaland and Kelvin Phillips plus they have won all of their pre-season matches so far.

They go into this Community Shield at the back of a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich plus Pep Guardiola has only a few injuries to deal with right now.

Liverpool vs Man City is an intense affair so the fact this is the Community Shield is not going to matter too much. We expect the Man City boss to name his best and strongest line up this weekend.

The manager is expected to throw in some surprises for when his team face the big teams but we doubt if Pep is going to experiment too much(not at least from the start).

Man City’s team news for the Community Shield:

Ruben Dias spent most of the summer recovering from a thigh injury but he played 57 minutes against Bayern Munich so he’s likely to start in the Liverpool vs Man City game.

John Stones, Phil Foden and Ilkay Gundogan were all unable to travel to the USA for pre-season but all of them will be available for this weekend’s game. Stones might have to start on the bench as the pair of Dias and Laporte is expected to start in central defence.

However, the season has not yet begun so there’s also a chance that Guardiola will protect Ruben Dias and use John Stones alongside Laporte.

The hard work continues!

Kalvin Phillips joined Manchester City this summer but we don’t think he will be handed a start and with Fernandinho gone, Rodri is going to play in defensive midfield.

Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus have both left the club for Chelsea and Arsenal respectively so things have gotten a lot easier for Jack Grealish who was struggling to get constant starts last season.

Erling Haaland was the marquee signing for Man City this summer and the youngster is a guaranteed starter for the Liverpool vs Manchester City tie.

Man City predicted line up vs Liverpool:

Goalkeeper: Ederson.

Defenders: Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias/Stones, Laporte, Cancelo.
