Many people have invested so much in their relationship; a lot of years, money, emotions and resources only for the relationship to fail or they get jilted.
There are also signs that can reveal that the relationship wouldn’t lead to marriage and you just have to be careful enough to spot those signs.
1. Personal development
When your relationship is healthy, you constantly improve yourself. You find new friends, get a better job, and build your career.
Your beloved will always support you, they aren’t envious of your achievements, and they don’t claim you spend all your time at work and don’t pay attention to them.
If your relationship is immature, you’ll notice that you have less friends, your career isn’t going anywhere, your life is devoted to your partner and their interests.
2. You’re always on the defensive
If you create a narrative in which you’re always the victim of perceived slights, snubs and attacks committed by your partner, you’ll start to feel an acute need to defend yourself.
Over time, you’ll find yourself increasingly on edge and hypersensitive to criticism. Not sure if this is you?
In short, when it becomes easier to hurt your partner than to heal the hurt you’re feeling, it’s time to question the health of your relationship.
3. Unapologetic infidelity
As we all know, infidelity is not socially acceptable; however, unfortunately, it occurs in a lot of relationships.
These behaviors are usually accompanied by untruthfulness, reassurance that the partner is misreading a situation and other behaviors to maintain both relationships.
When infidelity is known and feelings are made verbal about the other partner, it is a sign that the other relationship has developed from just physical intimacy to emotional.
