Just like the Carabao Cup final, Liverpool emerged as winners yet again through the penalty shootout. Looking at this tie between the two premier league side, Chelsea could have won the game if their manager, Thomas Tuchel, made the right decisions at the right time.

The first mistake Tuchel made in this game was not subbing Werner on. As chances were being wasted by Chelsea attackers, Werner should have been brought to convert these chances, and serve as a threat to the Liverpool defense.

Another mistake the manager made was leaving Mendy for the penalty shootout. Despite what happened at the Carabao Cup final, there is still no doubt that Kepa is a better penalty keeper than Mendy.

And the last mistake was starting Lukaku, who is a low presser of the ball. Looking at how this game ended, it was visible that this was not the type of game for striker, Lukaku. The striker made things hard for the team with his little pressing and poor contribution.
