1. It does not signify your virginity: The hymen is referred to as a woman’s dignity in many regions in the world. This is no longer the case as research shows that it is merely a piece of tissue inside the opening of a woman’s private part left over from the process of growth and formation during the period of infancy..
It is believed that it can only be broken during sexual activities but studies show that it could remain intact after penetration because of its flexible nature. It differs from your virginity since any intimate activity you involve in eliminates virginity.
2. The cartilage could break without penetration: sporting activities such as flexibility exercises, riding bikes, and squats can break your hymen. This is because such exercises concentrate stress at your lower waist region where the tissue is located.
3. Bleeding and pain are not necessarily experienced during the breaking process: not every woman bleeds or experiences pain during her first sexual experience because of the soft nature of the cartilage.
Provided a woman bleeds, it does not come directly from the cartilage, but from injury inquired during intercourse. Rough handling of your private part during intercourse forcefully breaks the fragile bone which could result in internal injury. Continued penetration despite this injury is the major cause of pain during your first intercourse.
