It’s the first time after so many years that Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing in UEFA Europa League and this has given Lionel Messi the chance to set new records in the competition as PSG face Maccabi Haifa a few hours ago.
Lionel Messi scored the equalizer goal after Maccabi Haifa scored early in the game and he set a new record with this goal.
He is now the only player who has scored in 18 consecutive UEFA Champions League seasons and this might be impossible for Cristiano Ronaldo unless he left Manchester United by January to return to a team playing in UEFA Champions League.
The second one is that Lionel Messi is now the only player who has scored against 39 different teams in UEFA Champions League and Cristiano Ronaldo has only scored against 38 and this is also something Cristiano Ronaldo will love to do something about.
In conclusion, Cristiano Ronaldo remains one of the most prolific players in the UEFA Champions League but not being able to watch him playing in the UEFA Champions League this season isn’t what a lot of people expect.
