Liverpool or Real Madrid could become the next winner of the biggest European club competition. However, Liverpool still has the chance to win the Premier league title tomorrow to make it a domestic treble this season.
In the last twenty years, only two clubs has been able to win atleast one Champions League, Europa league and Premier league title. Chelsea and Manchester United are the clubs in question.
Europa league title was the last time Manchester united won a Silverware, but the red devils dominated the list of teams with the most premier league titles in the last two decades.
Chelsea remains the only premier league team with the most Europa league titles in the past twenty years. They have won it twice, while Manchester united have won it once.
However, Liverpool came very close to winning the Europa league title, but Sevilla beat them in the finals. If they had succeeded, they would have join Chelsea and Manchester United in becoming teams who have won atleast one premier league, UEFA champions league and UEFA Europa league title in the last twenty years.
The Meseryside reds could still achieve this record as they have already won the Premier league and Champions league. All they need to do is to compete in the Europa league and win it.
When you look at the last twenty Champions league winners, you will observe that Chelsea, Manchester united and Liverpool are the only premier league teams that have won it. Other premier league big teams like Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester city are yet to win.
