Different Kenya Police ranks and badges are helpful in determining a police officer’s status within the force. In the Kenya Police hierarchy, the Inspector General holds the top position and is responsible for overseeing the whole National Police Service.

In Kenya, a person must meet the Qualifications outlined in Chapter 6 of the Constitution and be between the ages of 18 and 28 for holders of a KCSE Examination Certificate or its equivalent, and up to 30 for holders of a certificate or degree. possesses no outstanding criminal cases or convictions.
