However, Neymar Junior move from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017/18 summer transfer window remains the most expensive transfer of all of time. The French giants were made to pay a transfer fee over 200 million Euros to acquire the signature of the Brazilian forward.
Kylian Mbappe who happens to be Neymar Junior’s teammate was signed by Paris Saint-Germain in the 2018/19 for a fee which is 20 million Euros away from reaching 200 million Euros.
However, both Neymar and Mbappe were able to win the Ligue-1 title with Paris Saint-Germain last season, but they failed to win the UEFA champions league title as they were knocked out by Real Madrid.
Asides Neymar Junior and Kylian Mbappe’s transfer deal, other three transfer deal which cost more than 120 million Euros includes transfer fees Barcelona paid to acquire the services of Dembele and Coutinho.
Ousmane Dembele’s deal with Barcelona will expire this month and he is yet to renew his contract. He has been been linked with a move away from Camp Nou, while Coutinho has completed a permanent deal to Aston Villa after a successful loan spell at the Premier league club.
Nevertheless, When Atletico Madrid signed Joao Felix from Benfica they spent over 125 million Euros and made him one of their expensive signings in history. Since then Felix has failed to live up to expectations despite being under the tutelege of one of the best managers in the Europe’s top five leagues.
Other players who made the top ten list includes Antoine Griezmann, Jack Grealish, Cristiano Ronaldo, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku. Most of these players failed to live up to their expectations at these clubs while others were successful.
