Argentina got the game started on the front foot with their superb play in the final third. Argentina’s Lionel Messi had a chance to take the lead in the 38th minute, but Polish goalkeeper Szczesny saved it superbly.

Mac Allister gave Argentina a deserving lead early in the first half with a lovely low strike. A few minutes later, Alvarez scored with an incredible curling shot, further exacerbating Poland’s predicament.

One of the major talking points of the game was when Lionel Messi snubbed Lewandowski’s handshake. It was quite surprising that Messi failed to shake hands with the Polish striker despite the fact that Argentina was leading by 2-0.

However, I guess Lionel Messi was right to snub Lewandowski’s handshake during the game because he need to lead by example to his teammates.

Though, Argentina was 2-0 up but they can’t afford to act friendly to their opponent. A goal from Poland could change the tempo of the game, and Lionel Messi would want his teammates to be focused to avoid conceding any goal in the game.

However, Messi did manage to speak with Lewandowski as both players laughed hysterically after the final whistle.
