The FIFA World Cup which starts in November will probably be the last for some of the world’s greatest players like Luis Suárez, Ronaldo and even Neymar.
Messi is not exempted as well as he will be 39 and probably retired when the next World Cup rolls by.
Messi came so close to winning football’s greatest silverware with Argentina when they defied all odds and reached the final in Brazil 2014.
Sadly enough, he fell just short of completing football that night in Maracana as Germany won 1-nil by courtesy of Mario Gotze’s extra time goal.
This time, the former Barcelona man has a real chance of winning the famous trophy considering his country are currently unbeaten in 32 games.
Another reason Messi might win the World Cup is because of the series of events which occurred in 2001-2002 and 2017-2018.
In 2001, Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaucho joined French outfit Paris Saint Germain from Gremio for a fee in the region of $5 million.
A year later, Ronaldinho starred in Brazil’s World Cup triumph in Japan-South Korea.
Fast forward 15 years later, a young teenage boy by name Kylian Mbappe left his boyhood club Monaco in favor of a big-money transfer to PSG in 2017.
Then in 2018, Mbappe announced himself to the world of football with spectacular performances in Russia as France won the World Championship, beating Croatia 4-2 in the final.
