The 2022 FIFA World Cup will commence on Sunday, with host nation Qatar taking on Ecuador.
Brazil last won the World Cup back in 2002, while Argentina won it back in 1986.
But Cafu, who captained Brazil’s World Cup-winning team in 2002, believes both Brazil and Argentina have great potential to win the World Cup this year.
The former right-back was quoted by RMC Sport as saying: “It’s a great opportunity to break European dominance.
“It’s the perfect time for Brazil to break the curse and win the title. Argentina and Seleçao are the two favourites.”
He added, “These two countries have great potential to win the Cup.
